100!

—Scroll down for English—

Aantal continenten: 5
Aantal landen incl. vliegvelden/tussenlandingen: 11
Aantal vliegtuigen: 6
Aantal bedden: 23 + 1 nacht vliegtuig + 1 nacht stoel op vliegveld
Aantal km met de Bark Europa: 10.240
Aantal nieuwe paspoortstempels: 12
Aantal foto’s: 7.457

Today we have been on the road for exactly 100 days! You might have already seen that I write down the countries I have visited (on the world map on the right side of the blog) and in the last 100 days I already ticked off 6 new countries (without transfers). Here are some other statistics from the last 100 days:

Continents: 5
Countries incl. transfers: 11
Planes: 6
Beds: 23 + 1 night in the plane + 1 night in a chair at the airport
Distance with the Bark Europa: 10.240 km
New passport stamps: 12
Pictures taken: 7.457

But there is more than just numbers. I set foot on the southern hemisphere for the first time, by flying over the equator. We also sailed over the Greenwich meridian and as a tradition I earned a tattoo of an anchor by doing so, but I think I’ll wait a bit with that… We visited the southernmost city in the world (Ushuaia) and the most remote inhabited island in the world (Tristan da Cunha). The highest point of our trip for me was 1610 meter, in Nicaragua, but the most fun climb was up the mast of the Bark Europa. The hostel I liked best was Hospedaje Universal in El Castillo and the animal I liked best was the tapir, just because it surprised me so much. But we have seen over 50 very special animals, so I have to admit that choosing the best one is very hard. The best meal was the steak in Argentina and the best drink were the smoothies in Leon, Nicaragua. The most special sunset was on the beach in Corcovado and the best view is an impossible choice. From the hammock in Nicaragua, the mast of the Bark Europa or maybe from Table Mountain? I let the choice to you.

100 days filled with highlights and new experiences, I could make the list a lot longer! And we should also not forget the 100+ amazing people we have already met and who invited us everywhere so we just have to keep traveling 😉 And of course the 100+ comments we received from you, we really enjoy reading all the reactions and to hear some news from Europe every once in a while!

We are ready for the next 100 days and we hope you keep following us!
